Discover the Lower Shore:

The area which lies between the Atlantic Ocean and it's beaches to the East and the Chesapeake Bay to the West is known as the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.

The Chesapeake Bay has long been the center of life for Maryland's Lower Shore. Small towns like Snow Hill, Pocomoke, Nanticoke, Chance, Deal and Smith Island developed in this naturally beautiful region due to their close ties and easy access to the Chesapeake Bay.

Unlike the towns of the Upper Shore, these areas have remained small close knit communities and maintain their cultural heritage with the Bay at their core. The atmosphere is relaxed, easy-going and friendly.

Most towns are within a 20-30 minute drive to the City of Salisbury, the largest urban area in the region. Here you can find shopping centers, restaurants, entertainment, golf and medical facilities.

The Lower Shore is home to two distinguished Universities, an award winning Community College and three Hospitals.
